What is Backstop?
Maybe the better question is, Who is Backstop?
Our founder, Anna, qualified as a lawyer in 2010 and has been self-employed in the Legal industry since then. Legal Aid cuts and changes to the system led her to consider a fresh career, and after she started a part-time role as a Virtual Executive Assistant in early 2023, Backstop Business Support was born.
Anna’s understanding of what it’s like to run a small business means that she can support you in the day-to-day running of yours with ease. Her years as a lawyer means she pays attention to detail, can confidently deal with customers, and knows how to fill in a form or two! But, more than that, Anna is a creative, and there’s nothing more she loves than writing, creating video, and helping you with the vision for your next project or social media campaign.
Our approach
We offer services for the smallest of jobs, right up to those bigger projects and these will all be priced based on our hourly rates … more on that in a moment.
We will handle you and your customers with care, professionalism and a sense of humour, allowing you to focus on doing your job or relaxing on your day off.
Prices
Our hourly rate is £25 and all of our Services are priced based on this.
So, you can either choose to pay for a number of hours per day/week/month for us to work on whatever services you need, or give us an idea of the project and we will confirm how many hours it’s likely to take.
As an example, you might want us to tidy up your email inboxes. We can do this for you regularly, say one hour per week, or as a one-off job. If you have a fixed budget in mind, we will stop when we reach it, or we can confirm how many hours it will take to complete the job.
We want to make this as transparent and easy to budget as possible. We do ask for a booking fee of 50% for our time to be paid up front, but otherwise we can invoice you weekly or monthly, whatever is best for you.
Nearly all of our work is completed Virtually to keep your costs low, but if you’re local and need us to deal with some physical papers for example, our travel rate is half the hourly rate and mileage is charged at 45 pence per mile.
